Plasterboards come in form of sheets attached to the ceiling beams. They also have scrim which is taped right across the joints prior to applying plaster. In some instances, plasterboard ceilings are dry lined and refined with scrim and compound which are placed across the joints. The latter is normally adorned without plaster. Lath plus plaster, on the other hand come in the form of thin shreds of wood attached to the beams to create a board. The plaster is then applied to the board. If your lath-plus-plaster ceiling has a problem such as loose or cracked plaster, you should not waste your money hiring an expert.

Such problems should be fixed immediately. Remember, plasterboard ceiling is usually very heavy and it can easily cause accidents if it is done poorly. Therefore you should move with speed to repair the faulty areas immediately. Before you embark on your ceiling repairs, ensure that all gaps are properly filled with sheets of dust. Then, wear a dust cover to protect you from inhaling the dust. You can also wear shades to protect your eyes. Also, get the right tools of trade.

There is a hole in the ceiling of our guest bedroom, and we were thinking about getting it repaired soon. I had no idea that plasterboard comes in sheets. It would be nice to have a little extra just in case, but I think we will have to go with professional help. Thanks!
